Dusty-fingered record freaks Mr. Robinson and DJ Honky, along with guests spinners (tonight, Finland's DJ Sami), man the decks at this night devoted to vintage funk For this month’s edition, the pair is bringing in Lee Fields. The veteran vocalist's discography stretches back four decades—he was the original singer for Kool & the Gang, among many other claims to fame—but it wasn’t until the late 1990s that the man began releasing music at a consistent clip; he's one of the more prolific players on the retro-soul scene, commonly associated with his former label, Daptone. He'll be backed by the Sweet Divines, who will play an early set sans Fields to open up the night.
