Don’t Tell Mama
What good is singing alone in your room when you can sing along with show tunes at a Theater District cabaret? Cabaret performers often congregate in the bar area before and after their numbers, and best of all, there’s no cover charge there, just a two-drink minimum. Sip a bourbon, hum a few bars, and soak up the Art Deco chic.

Don't Tell Mama is a great midtown location, but it's not suited for the kind of performances it offers.  They lease out the performance spaces for private shows or performances and, unfortunately, the staff makes it really difficult to enjoy the experience. We were yelled at for trying to order the second drink (of our 2-drink minimum) because it was different than the first. The bartenders and staff spoke through all of the performances and, as soon as the show ended, tried to get the audience to leave as fast as possible. The performers are wonderful and this place can be a lot of fun, but you're definitely not going back for the great service.

Located in the super entertaining Theater District of Manhattan, Don't Tell Mama definitely doesn't fall short on entertainment. Take your pick because they have a piano bar, restaurant and two cabaret showrooms. If you go for just food, the restaurant offers a very varied menu. Start with the guacamole and chips or the delicious garlic bread. They've got salads, soups, seafood, pasta and much more. The roasted eggplant ravioli is great as well as the oven roasted halibut for a main course. Make sure you wash down your food with a sexy mama, ruby red slipper, or a mama's martini.
