Down + Saint Vitus + Warbeast + Haarp

As many a discerning headbanger could tell you, Down features ex-Pantera frontman Philip Anselmo, Corrosion of Conformity's Pepper Keenan, Eyehategod's Jimmy Bower and Crowbar's Kirk Windstein. The N'awlins institution gets as close as it ever has to fulfilling the awesome promise of its pedigree on the new Purple EP, an expertly executed set of super-crunchy psych-metal. Setting the stage is esteemed West Coast doom institution Saint Vitus, gigging in support of the recent Lillie: F-65, a fuzz-caked downer-on-purpose that marked a reunion with fan-fave frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich. (Also on the bill are Warbeast and Haarp, both signed to Anselmo's Housecore label.)
