One of the slicker bands on the ’90s Touch and Go roster, Girls Against Boys channeled a hardcore pedigree into a muscular yet determinedly sensual sound. More than many of their peers, the band always seemed perfectly at ease with the rock-star mystique. The reunited GVSB hits the LES in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its 1993 Touch and Go debut, Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby, and in advance of a forthcoming new EP. Look out for a guest vocal turn from Jesus Lizard–Scratch Acid man David Yow, as well as an opening set from Kentucky's Coliseum, which offers burly, surprisingly anthemic post-hardcore drenched in dire emotion.
