Setting aside his ingenious post-rock-improv combo Alas No Axis, drummer Jim Black turns up at the Stone with as conventional a combo as ever we've seen him lead, with pianist Elias (yes, just the one name) and bassist Chris Tordini—which doesn't necessarily mean that the music will be conventional at all.
