Joan of Arc + Co La

Whatever shape Joan of Arc has taken over the years, its thorny avant-emo meditations have always reflected the considerable idiosyncrasies of frontman Tim Kinsella; the band's new album is a song cycle called Testimonium Songs, a response to Charles Reznikoff’s poetic work Testimony, itself inspired by courtroom transcripts at the end of the 19th century. Also on tap is lush, heady electronica via Co La, the solo project of former Ecstatic Sunshine–r Matthew Papich. Bubbles joins the bill Aug 25 at Shea Stadium.
