In 2011, relentlessly eclectic cellist Marika Hughes released Afterlife Music Radio, a remarkable solo effort featuring new pieces by modern visionaries such as Jenny Scheinman, Trevor Dunn and Eyvind Kang, and The Simplest Thing, an ensemble disc that spotlights Hughes's supple vocals. Expect to hear from both tonight. Also on the bill is the gleefully frenetic punk-fusion trio Seabrook Power Plant and burly math-doom metal trio Bassoon.
