Olafur Arnalds

A mechanical bird flaps its way across a dark, snowy sky in Olafur Arnalds’s new video—the perfect visual accompaniment to the 23-year-old composer’s fairy-tale instrumentals. Surprisingly, perhaps, Arnalds started out as a drummer in a hardcore band called Fighting Shit, before pursuing a quieter direction, and since 2007 has cut a handful of records, including his new second album, …And They Have Escaped the Weight of Darkness. Expect to hear from that at tonight's whispery show.
