Dapper dancehall crooner Sanchez is sort of like a reverse Pat Boone, a one-man karaoke machine uniquely capable of turning the most soulless pop dreck into lively reggae classics: His version of Shai’s “If I Ever Fall In Love” is a must in any ’90s dancehall set. Curiously, Now & Forever (VP Records), his first full-length effort in seven years, consists almost entirely of originals. The singer’s prolonged absence has only enhanced his local appeal.
