Teenage Fanclub + The Clean + Radar Brothers

Time Out says

The charmed Glasgow quartet Teenage Fanclub for years has played smart pop songs with an unabashed Big Star jones; the band's 1991 album Bandwagonesque famously won Spin's 1991 critic's poll…just above Nevermind. Which album holds up better? You be the judge. The band comes to town with its ninth album, Shadows, on Merge. The Clean first appeared on record with 1981’s “Tally Ho,” a near-perfect rallying cry anchored by an organ drone straight out of the Modern Lovers’ playbook. The band is rarely not great—check out last year’s wonderful LP Mister Pop. Openers Radar Brothers play a lush, hazy pop that raises a glass to the sluggish sleepers John Lennon brought to the last few Beatles records.
