Tom Zé is a legend of tropicalia, the ludicrously groovy art movement from late-’60s Brazil that caught fire with late-’90s indie-rockers. Now at age 74, the avant-gardist plays New York for the first time in more than a decade, on the heels of last year's career-spanning box set, Studies of Tom Zé.
