Time Out says

Spawn of International Food House, a Dominican all-you-can-eat around the corner, Albert's specializes in mofongo—not to be confused with Mofungo, the East Village Noise band from the 1980s. Mofongo is a wad of fried green plantains that has been smashed with raw garlic and formed into a huge ball. The ball forms the basis of most entrées, many of which have a pan-Latin feel to them. You can have the ball with goat stew, fried eggs, shrimp and cheese, or crusty pork ribs, among many choices. Also recommended is Albert's rendition of asopao, a tart Puerto Rican rice stew swimming with shrimp. Come in and enjoy!
