We are proud to be serving New York City since 1994. Mr. Rakesh Aggarwal, the creator, whose nick name was “Balu” in his early years, left India and came to America in 1980. He worked at some of the finest restaurants such as “Club 21″ and “The Oak Room.” His experience and passion for restaurants led him to create the first mid segment casual Indian restaurant in New York City, a.k.a. your beloved Baluchis.
He is joined by his son, Mr. Rohan Aggarwal, who is the second generation in the business. Mr. Rohan Aggarwal is currently overseeing the catering and marketing segments of this chain. He also played a major role in launching their newest brand "Baluchi's Fresh" an Indian Fast Casual dining concept located in the heart of Bryant Park.
The standards and innovations that our creators developed have paved the way for many successful brands besides Baluchi’s and have changed the way people perceive Indian food in the United States and abroad.
