Generally considered a store found only in suburban minimalls, this preppy chain is expanding its urban presence with a new flagship store in Times Square and another massive locale planned for Downtown Brooklyn next month. The midtown venture will be the largest Aéropostale store to date, with grandiose features like an all-glass viewing room on the second floor that allows tourists to ogle the lights of Times Square and, following in the steps of other retail giants in the area like American Eagle and Forever 21, an interactive dance cam that will project your best moves onto a giant billboard outside. While most of the merch is typical of Aéro stores around the country, such as women’s plaid button-ups ($43) and men’s thermal henleys ($35), there are items made specifically for this location. A special T-shirt shop is stocked with NYC-specific graphic tees ($20) branded with fifth ave or times square.
