Time Out says

Former professional glass blower Kim Provenzano decided to change her career path and become a hair stylist. After graduating from the Aveda Institute in March 2007, Provenzano worked at Garren New York on the Upper East Side, Lilypad Beauty Lounge in Williamsburg and the now-defunct Valerie’s on Ludlow Street. She chose a quaint space in Greenpoint to open her own salon. Provenzano did everything herself, including construction of the front desk and welding an impressive old marble table. “I want this place to not only be an extension of me,” she says, “but also a mixture of old and new to act as a reflection of the neighborhood.” The tiny salon features stained-glass windows in the back, and includes one cutting station, one color station and one shampoo station. In addition to the personal service offered, prices are affordable: Men and women’s cuts are $25–$45, color starts at $45–$125, blowouts are $25 and bang trims are $5.
