amysachs
After sending her third—and youngest—child off to college, Upper East Side mom Amy Sachs poured her energy into opening her first women’s clothing store. On a mission to bring an edgier vibe to traditionally conservative uptown boutiques, Sachs’s cozy, brick-walled shop is decorated with photographs taken by her filmmaker son, and offers a collection of downtown-cool accessories ($20–$600) and clothing ($30–$800) from local and L.A. designers such as Veda, Charlie London and Dusica Dusica. Sachs and right-hand stylist Junell Banks work closely with customers to help them mix and match pieces, including Wildfox shopping is my cardio long-sleeved tees ($98), Enza Costa cashmere-and-cotton dresses ($180) and Siena Jewelry diamond-and-pyrite crescent necklaces ($560). 415 E 72nd St between First and York Aves (212-628-2013, shopamysachs.com). Tue–Fri 11am–6pm, Sat noon–5pm.

Electric Nest
Designer Leana Zuniga debuts the first stand-alone store for her boho ladies’ clothing label, Electric Feathers. The shop offers a selective collection of new and vintage womenswear ($100–$1,000), accessories ($50–$700), home decor ($25–$500), and apothecary goods ($13–$100) from both Zuniga’s own label and other brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Dieppa Restrepo. Look for Electric Feathers ikat pillows ($180) and silk jumpsuits ($585), Lauren Manoogian leather bangles ($70–$127) and Boris Rapaport printed-canvas totes ($55). 60 Broadway between Berry St and Wythe Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (347-227-7023, electricnest.info). Mon–Sat noon–8pm, Sun noon–7pm.

GQ x Fellow Barber Shop
The popular men’s magazine teams up with Sam Buffa’s local salon chain, Fellow Barber, to launch a barbershop at Barclays Center. The 400-square-foot space features classic touches such as black-and-white tiled floors, a pair of ’60s chairs and vintage subway signs lining the walls. All services, including haircuts ($10–$40), beard trims ($15) and full shaves ($40), are available to walk-ins only when the stadium is open for events. The shop also doubles as an apothecary, hawking grooming products ($10–$300) from indie brands such as Malin + Goetz and Juniper Ridge. Our top picks include Edwin Jagger double-edged razors ($50) and Odin woodsy colognes ($125). 620 Atlantic Ave between Flatbush and Sixth Aves, Boerum Hill, Brooklyn (917-618-6100, fellowbarber.tumblr.com). Open one hour before concerts, two hours before Nets games; closes one hour before the end of concerts and during the fourth quarter of Nets games.

Plume
Located inside mini-mall the Shops at 240 Kent, this sleek women’s clothing boutique offers an array of chic styles imported from Turkey ($40–$225). Although Hasidic Jewish owner Malky Leibowitz doesn’t peruse fashion magazines or access the Internet and can’t don many of the clothes she sells, she’s still committed to stocking contemporary trends, as evidenced by metallic shorts ($95), ostrich-feather skirts ($220) and faux-fur-trimmed lace fingerless opera gloves ($56). Mention TONY for 10 percent off all purchases through Wednesday 5. 240 Kent Ave at North 1st St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (234-207-5863, plumeny.com). Tue–Thu, Sun noon–6pm.
