Xoos (CLOSED)

Button-downs can feel like the least-inspired element of a wardrobe, but that doesn’t have to be the case now that Xoos is in town. The line of stylish, well-priced, limited-edition collared shirts—designed in France and manufactured in Turkey—opened its first U.S. location, in Tribeca. The spacious store, featuring an exposed-brick wall, a few sparsely hung rolling racks, a couple of tables and some display cubbies, carries nothing but button-downs for both men and women (with the exception of a variety of Italian-made 100 percent silk ties, $45). Though the shop’s designs will be turning over rapidly—it plans to introduce new collections every two weeks—you’ll always find classic collared shirts with a fresh twist. Look for ladies’ polka-dotted styles with paisley ruffles set alongside the buttons ($90), women’s solid varieties with colored stitching and gingham print inside the collars ($85), men’s solid shirts with square buttons ($85) and striped, floral-print button-downs ($80) for adventurous dudes.
