Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Writer-director Edward Einhorn’s multimedia dramatization of Philip K. Dick’s 1968 sci-fi–noir novel—also the basis for the film Blade Runner—centers on a bounty hunter (an appropriately tortured Alex Emanuel) on assignment to kill a pack of rogue androids. A quartet of teardrop screens evokes the complex liaison between technology and humanity, and Dick’s indictments of blind religious faith, tabloid TV, celebrity worship and a society gone numb seem depressingly timely.—Raven Snook
