Do you fancy a good party, Old Sport? Then have we got a great one for you…

Fresh off its record-shattering, sold-out run at Paper Mill Playhouse (New Jersey), The Great Gatsby has roared to life on Broadway.

Starring Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, NBC’s Smash) as the eccentric and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Eva Noblezada (Hadestown, Miss Saigon) as the enigmatic Daisy Buchanan, this Tony Award-nominated duo brings one of the greatest American novels to life on stage in a dazzling and lush new musical.

The Great Gatsby is a new musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s beloved 1925 novel—turning 100 years old next year!—set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, New York.

Featuring a book by Kait Kerrigan, music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Nathan Tysen, choreography by Dominique Kelley, and direction by Marc Bruni, it's the most glamorous affair Broadway has ever seen.

Still feeling cold feet though? Well, here are five reasons why The Great Gatsby is going to become your next Broadway obsession!

Jeremy Jordan as Jay Gatsby

There’s quite literally no one more fit to play the charismatic Jay Gatsby than the rightful “King of New York” himself, Jeremy Jordan. With a powerhouse voice that gives the entire theater goosebumps, Jordan’s electric portrayal of Gatsby is a smash. When Jordan delivers Gatsby’s now iconic line—“Can’t repeat the past? Why, of course, you can!”—yes, he’s giving you full permission to come back and see this musical again, and again, and again. Trust us, you’re going to want to!

Eva Noblezada as Daisy Buchanan

Eva Noblezada first stormed into our hearts when she delivered a generation-defining performance as Kim in Miss Saigon at the Broadway Theatre, which now houses this production of The Great Gatsby. And after going to hell and back as Eurydice in Hadestown, Noblezada claims her spotlight yet again. Exuding a stage presence that is simultaneously effervescent and commanding, Noblezada’s portrayal of Daisy Buchanan is perfection, proving there is no one more capable of bringing this classic literary character to life. Just as Buchanan once quipped, Noblezada’s performance will leave you "paralyzed with happiness."

The Roaring Twenties

By now, the Roaring Twenties feel like only the stuff of legend, hidden away in the pages of a book. But the golden age of parties is officially back for eight extraordinary performances a week, and the creative team responsible is just as stunning as its wares. Paul Tate dePoo III’s scenic and projection designs immediately ensnare the senses, welcoming you to a once-in-a-lifetime party you’ll never want to leave. Cory Pattak’s lighting design complements so expertly that you, too, will be seeing the green light of desire for weeks to come. And Linda Cho’s lavish costume design rivals the likes of the Met Gala’s extravagance. Top all this off with a literal display of fireworks, and The Great Gatsby is a spectacular feast for the soul.

The party guests

Everyone knows…a party is only as good as those attending it. Thank goodness then that we’re in the company of the ritziest ensemble of performers in all of New York City. Featuring Noah J. Ricketts (Showtime’s Fellow Travelers), Samantha Pauly (the original company of SIX), Sara Chase (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), John Zdrojeski (Good Night, Oscar), Paul Whitty (Once), and Eric Anderson (Moulin Rouge), this debonair cast of triple threats contriubutes to the long-awaited renaissance of the Jazz Age back to Broadway. There’s no vocal that's un-riffable, no moment that's forgettable, and no show-stopping tap dance that doesn't make you want to jump up and join in.

The classic American novel

When F. Scott Fitzgerald first wrote “You can’t live forever; you can’t live forever,” little did he know that we’d be gathering nearly 100 years later for the Broadway musical adaptation of his classic American novel. To purchase a ticket to The Great Gatsby is not just a one-way ticket to revel in a sweeping score set to “that book” we all remember from high school. It’s a new opportunity to befriend classic characters in a fresh way that allows audiences to immerse themselves in the timeless themes of longing, passion, and tragedy. So, Mr. Fitzgerald, as it turns out, you can live forever.
