You won't be able to find Pop-Up Magazine at your local newsstand, no matter how hard you try. The "magazine" is actually a live show created to be performed with a stage, screen and audience. This tour's theme is Escape, as contributors tackle the subject in vivid details accompanied by original music from Magik*Magik Orchestra. Contributors to The Escape Issue include comedians Jo Firestone (Shrill) and Jordan Carlos (HBO’s Divorce; Black Mirror; WNYC’s Adulting); poet Sarah Kay (Project VOICE); writers Chris Duffy (Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas), Clio Chang (Jezebel, The New Republic), and Keri Blakinger (Houston Chronicle); musician Left at London and more.
