X-ray fetishes certainly aren’t casual, cocktail-party chatter, but cultural critic Mark Dery, author of The Pyrotechnic Insanitarium: American Culture on the Brink and Escape Velocity: Cyberculture at the End of the Century, argues that we’re all obsessed with what’s inside.
