Time Out says

Max Protetch has been at the forefront of contemporary art practice since its inception in 1969, with a progressive program that continually redefines what is appropriate to be shown in a fine art context. From its beginnings in Minimal and Conceptual art, the gallery established the precedent for showing architecture and design in the late 1970s; in the mid-'90s, the gallery mounted several pioneering exhibitions of contemporary Chinese art. Today it represents a diverse group of artists from North America, Europe and Asia—including Siah Armajani, Chen Qiulin, Saul Chernick, Mike Cloud, Hai Bo, Zach Harris, Oliver Herring, Tim Hyde, Byron Kim, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, Ann Pibal, Marjetica Potrc, Tobias Putrih, David Reed, Siebren Versteeg and Betty Woodman.
