When to visit Disneyland Paris
It comes as no surprise that the school holidays, especially July and August when the weather is at its best, are the busiest times to visit Disneyland Paris. It’s also the most expensive. And while it’s magical in December with the Christmas decorations, things get extremely busy. If you don’t mind some rain and cloudy skies, February and March are quiet and you can get some great deals on prices. September is a great time to visit as the kids have just gone back to school but the weather is still pretty fine. But my favourite time to go is in April and May. It does rain a bit, but there’s a nice balance between lower crowds and not so low there’s no atmosphere.
How much does it cost?
Depending on when you visit, a one park, one day ticket costs between £47-£113. It’s cheaper out of season and mid-week and most expensive at weekends in high season. If you book a package – park tickets and hotel stay together – you can get some really good deals. A stay at the Disney Hotel Santa Fe for one night, with tickets for two days at both Disney parks, costs as little as £185 per person in low season, while the same deal for a stay at The Disney Hotel can cost as much as £846 per person in high season.
The on-site restaurants charge high prices for meals, but you can opt for the fast food outlets and, while they are still more expensive than a regular fast food joint, aren’t too bad. You can take a few snacks in with you, but don’t try to carry an entire picnic into the parks. The other option is to head back to your hotel for lunch or dinner, but bear in mind, depending on your package deal, this isn’t always cheaper than the fast food inside the parks.

Where to stay at Disneyland Paris
There are a lot of hotel options at Disneyland Paris, both inside the parks and close by. If you’re pushing the boat out, the Disney Hotel is by far the best Disney experience, and you get to be first into the parks every day. But for a budget friendly option, nearby hotels are much cheaper, quieter, and most offer a free shuttle bus to the parks and back. You can also compromise and choose a budget Disney park hotel, which gives you a taste of the Disney hotel experience while not being too far away. What to visit at Disneyland Paris
The first thing to do is download the Disneyland Paris app. This will give you a map of the park and show you times for parades and shows, so you can plan your day. What you choose to visit depends on whether you’re visiting as a couple, a family with young children, or with teenagers. Below are our must-dos.
- Frozen Ever After, the resort’s much-anticipated new ride – for Frozen lovers everywhere
- Adventure Isle, a great walk-through attraction with caves and a suspension bridge
- Big Thunder Mountain, the best version of this ride at any of the Disney Parks around the world
- Ratatouille the Adventure, a gentle ride through the world of Ratatouille with 3D elements
- Le Carrousel de Lancelot, a traditional carousel ride that young children love
The shows can alter through the year, but are always spectacular. Don’t miss the parade, it’s pure happy vibes. And, if you can get a slot via the app, meet Mickey Mouse at Fantasyland.
