We can’t think of anyone who hasn’t at least dreamt of spending a Christmas in Paris. And as you’d expect, the gloves really come off when it comes to bringing the festive cheer to the City of Lights. We tend to think of it as Lapland’s chic cousin, because from street-corner patisseries to Galeries Lafayette, the centre of Paris twinkles with golden lights to match those of the iconic Eiffel Tower. It’s all pretty magical.

Visit Tuileries Garden Christmas market, Penguin-dance along a pop-up ice rink, see the Nutcracker on stage, pull up a chair at a traditional brasserie or stroll along the twinkling Seine. The possibilities are infinite, including which hotel to stay in. Gladly leave last that one to us. To help you decide on the perfect room, we’ve rounded up Paris’ cosiest Christmas hotels. Bisous.

This elegant hotel is suave, plush and extremely well-placed for sightseeing – and if it’s Christmas, what could be better than that? (Well, we’ll tell you what could be better than that, actually – booking the Aurore Suite, which has fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower itself from its private terrace.) But all the rooms here are marvellous, with high ceilings, soft furnishings and marble bathrooms with seperate standing baths.

There’s also a fantastic spa in the basement, softly lit with a huge pool, and a restaurant headed up by chef Bruno Aubin, serving up fine dining, but without all the faff. If all this isn’t enough, well really, you could just stay at Le Narcisse Blanc for the location. You’re tucked away on a quiet street, slap bang in the middle of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine, surrounded by the very best of bougie Paris with the Tuileries gardens and some of the city’s top art museums just a 15-minute stroll away. Most of all, this is the kind of place that makes a fuss: there will be Christmas deals and menus, and there will most definitely be a whopping great Christmas tree.

Address: 19, boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg 75007 Paris, France

Let’s be real: this hotel looks like Christmas all year round, let alone during December. All lit up, colourful, leafy and green, this hotel never fails to feel like something out of a film, and at Christmas, things get even more magical. Things are so posh here they even borderline on snooty, so you’ll be well looked after for a festive stay.

This spot is for full-on romantics: step through the pearly gates into a beautiful courtyard, full of trees with vines growing up the front of it. At Christmas, the whole thing gets lit up with fairy lights so you feel like you’re in a human snowglobe. It’s pretty magical. There are also a number of festive deals you can book onto, including the three-night Christmas package and the Romantic Getaway package. In the hotel’s incredibly quiant honesty bar, you’ll find a burning open fire all the way through December. But really, Christmas tree or not, it doesn’t get more festive than here.

Address: Le Pavillon de la Reine, 28 place des Vosges, 75003 Paris

Perhaps you’ve been dreaming of an elegant, white Christmas? Then this five-star stay tucked between Opera and the Tuileries is handpicked for you. Situated in the first arrondissement, Château Voltaire offers guests the height of sophistication but in a non-stuffy or pretentious way, which is why we like it.

Each of the 31 guest rooms is uniquely decorated with handcrafted furnishings, manor-style decor and cubist paintings. The intention? A subtle, delightful and ‘poetic’ retreat in the heart of Paris. And when it comes to ways to unwind, there are plenty: take the hidden staircase that leads to the indoor pool, enjoy first-class mixology at Bar La Coquille d'Or, or enjoy an intimate dinner at Brasserie l'Emil.

Address: 55 Rue Saint-Roch, 75001 Paris

Inspired by the roaring twenties and set in Sain Germain de pres, Hotel Cayré is quite the character, and we feel its cosy old-timey interiors are befitting for a little Christmas cheer. It’s classic, and elegant, but never boring among other indulgences you’ll find an onsite gallery – the perfect spot to unwind – a fancy ‘refresh room' for those always on the go but need to look chic, an on-site brasserie and a state-of-the-art gym. Tick, tick, tick. Plus, some suites offer floor-to-ceiling windows which opened out above the lively Rue de Bac, and, yes, that priceless Eiffel Tower view.

5. Park Hyatt Paris

In the jewelers’ district on Rue de La Paix, this sublime contemporary palace with its listed historical facade won’t necessarily impress most people from the outside – it’s so discreet that it’s barely visible among the jewelers’ windows. But once inside, things seriously stand out, with soothing and luminous colors, a hushed and quiet vibe, high-end furniture and style (in bronze, mahogany, Parisian limestone), staff full of ‘good morning, sir,’ and incredibly cosy fireplaces, as well as a wealth of artwork. Essentially, this is peak Paris – and there’s no better time to experience it than at Christmas.

Address: 5 Rue de la Paix, 75002 Paris

Price: Starting from approximately €1,500 per night

Closest transport: Opéra (Lines 3, 7 and 8) is about a 3-4 minute walk

6. Château des Fleurs

For those of you who love a Haussmann-style building, Château des Fleurs is very elegant indeed. Set in the 8th – a prime spot for all your festive endeavours – the hotel offers bright, elegantly dressed rooms with large windows for incredible views of the city in all of its bustling beauty. Along with being just moments from Arc de Triomphe, theirs much to indulge in on the premises including spa treatments and fine cocktails at the hotel bar.

Address: 19 Rue Vernet, 75008 Paris, France

Price: Starting from approximately €480 per night

Closest transport: George V (Line 1) is a 3-minute walk

7. Hôtel De Nice

If maximalism is what you require, this one is very, very nice. Just a short stroll from the Picasso Museum, the Seine and Notre Dame, Hôtel de Nice is the epitome of Parisian chic. At Christmas, it becomes even more enchanting, with its gilded mirrors, antiques and patchwork quilts feeling tailor-made for winter cosiness. Velvet upholstery, warm lighting and walls lined with portraits create the sort of festive eccentricity that only Paris can pull off. Though we admit, since we’re nowhere near as stylish, we did briefly wonder whether we’d stumbled into a particularly glamorous Christmas fever dream.

Address: 42 Bis Rue de Rivoli, 75004 Paris

Price: Starting from approximately €180 per night

Closest transport: Hôtel de Ville (Lines 1 and 11) is a 2–3 minute walk

8. Maison Malesherbes

Set in the heart of Saint-Augustin aka the 8th, with stunning views overlooking the cathedral, Maison Malesherbes is quite the elegant affair. And by elegant we mean it doesn’t get any more bourgeoise than this. Comprised of 23 decadent rooms, each with its own antique, bohemian flare, the hotel invites you to indulge like a true flaneur. As well as an open fire and cosy vibes all the way through December, guests can book a Winter Getaway offer with 15 percent off stays from October 19, 2025 to March 29, 2026.

Address: 11 Place Saint-Augustin, 75008 Paris

Price: Starting from approximately €250 per night

9. Balzac

With its tribute to Champs Elysèe, we couldn’t think of anywhere more fitting for a no-expense-barred kind of Christmas. Every inch of this hotel is so full of mystique and old-timey elegance. From shadowy drawing rooms to golden-hued guest rooms offering views of the Eiffel Tower, the Balzac is one not to be passed up on. Don’t miss an opportunity to head to the secret bar or the Pierre Gagnaire for that all-important view.

Address: 6 Rue Balzac, 75008 Paris

Price: Starting from approximately €550 per night

Closest transport: George V (Line 1) is about a 2-minute walk
