Cathedral of the Assumption

Located on Church Street (naturally), this former church was granted the status of a cathedral in 1955. Its history dates back centuries to when Captain Francis Light first alighted in Penang. Today, the cathedral holds World Heritage Church status and is known by many to be the oldest church in Penang. With its interior and exterior currently undergoing restoration, the cathedral is sure to attract more people, both church-goers and tourists alike.
