Hutton Lodge fills the gap between Chulia Street’s out-and-out backpacker hostels and George Town’s bigger hotels. Set back from the road, and just off Jalan Penang, the restored colonial building offers a range of room sizes and styles from dormitories to an executive suite. There’s a pleasant garden terrace, internet access in the lobby, and you’ll be greeted by a very helpful manager.
