We’re not giving out any beauty awards for the rooms here, but The Merchant Hotel is a decent place to lodge for the non-fussy traveller. Rooms are neat and basic amenities are provided. The hotel’s location, however, is worth shouting about; within walking distance to most of George Town’s major sights, you’ll have plenty to see and do.
