Penang’s YMCA is a little awkwardly located. It’s too far to walk into George Town and few of the island’s attractions are nearby, so you’ll need transport be it taxis, buses or a private hire car. The YMCA isn’t such an odd choice though – you know what you’re going to get. Rooms are basic but clean and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the association’s community work.
