Cheng Sim provides the healthy and, arguably, ethically sound alternatives to the most loved food of Penang. Far from having to abstain from bak kut teh, Hokkien mee, paus and even mutton, Cheng Siew offers the vegetarian versions of these, and in the case of mutton, chicken, pork and so on, Cheng Siew offers the choice of meat substitutes. It has been said to be a vegetarian joint offering one of the better economy rice selections; but be sure to drop by early, as the dishes run out quick.
