Gem Restaurant: House of Fine Indian Cuisine

Gem’s doorknobs appear in the form of two ornately embellished elephants and the expanse of its dining area is strewn with Indian portraits, wood carvings and sculptures; but make no mistake, Gem isn’t all style and no substance. Its team of Indian chefs specialise in traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine, as immediately evident in the first dig into the Hyderabad Chicken, and that Gem hails originally from India is a fact that is just as well taken as an assurance of authenticity. Gem’s self-proclaimed principle of treating their customers like precious jewellery may be the most literal take on naming a restaurant, but judging from its three (and growing) outlets in Malaysia, its patrons must be enjoying the pampering.
