Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

October 2012

The restaurant takes up a large corner of Straits Quay’s marina front and its large patio overlooks the sea, boats and blue sky. The white woven furniture gives it a beach holiday ambience. Furthermore, its Pacific Rim and Hawaiian themed menu of Hawaiian pork curry, island chicken, steaks, seafood-based appetisers and colourful frozen margaritas add to the feel. Their island chicken consists of batter-dipped fried boneless chicken leg, pineapple-sweet gravy, coleslaw, chunks of blanched broccoli and thick fries. It’s a good-sized portion and easy on the palate. It’s a familiar and comforting dish which holds no surprises but couple that with a glass of Pacific margarita and you’ve got a winner.

Despite the glass of blue liquid resembling nothing of its mango, grapefruit, tequila and Cointreau ingredients, its intoxicating quality is undeniable. Maricosa’s line up of five margaritas either come in a glass for RM21.90 or a dainty pitcher for RM30.90. Their promotion of buy two pitchers of margarita and get a glass of it free is on-going. Meanwhile, their food starts from RM14.90 for an appetiser and from RM28.90 for a main dish. On weekends, they serve high tea from 3pm to 6pm at RM59.90 for two and this includes a welcome glass of sparkling wine each.

A really lovely time to sit and enjoy a meal there is just before lunch time where the salty air is fresh, the sea is sparkling and boats are gently rocking on the marina. Su Aziz
