The island's second George Town Literary Festival is on this November. With a vision to support Malaysian writers as well as building a platform for dialogue and exchange, the festival will host various international and local writers under one roof. In celebration of this year's theme, 'Voyages. Hopes. Dreams', settle yourself for a session with Belgium's political commentator David Van Reybrouck, Scottish writer Andrew Greig, Indonesian writer Linda Christanty and more. Guests could also rub shoulders with familiar local faces including National Laureate A.Samad Said (pictured) as well as writers Tan Twan Eng, Chiew-Siah Tei, Dina Zaman and Malaysian-Australian rapper-poet Omar Musa. Special event highlights include 'Wayang Kata VIII' and an 'Alternative Bookfair'. There will be live performances by Az Samad, Isaac Entry, Jerome Kugan and Mei Chern too.
