The portable fan selection at City Target is dwindling fast thanks to this scorching heatwave. SF dwellers just aren't used to this week-long warming trend. So to help, we've searched out the most chill (literally) spots and suggestions for anyone in need of a serious cool down:

1. Even on the City's hottest days, Crissy Field maintains a brisk breeze beneath the Golden Gate. Take a stroll or sit in the shade—you just might want to avoid the aptly-named Warming Hut.

2. There is absolutely no reason you should not be eating ice cream right now.

3. ...Unless you prefer gelato.

4. Stop complaining that you don't know anyone with a pool. You definitely do

5. Wanna get dangerously cold? Take a swim in San Francisco Bay.

6. Sure, sure, it's gorgeous outside. But when it gets too hot to handle, head to an air-conditioned movie megaplex.

7. Catch some cool jazz. (Get it?)

8. If you're an avid surfer or have always wanted to try to hang ten, now is a great time to wade into the chilly Pacific Ocean.

9. Strip naked at Baker Beach. Everyone else does.

10. We're pretty sure that drinking ice cold beer in an outdoor beer garden is scientifically proven to cool one down.

11. This heatwave calls for a sunset sail

12. When the rest of San Francisco is scorching hot, there is on neighborhood we can always count on to warrant a hoodie. You guessed it!
