When Evan and Sarah Rich opened their Hayes Valley restaurant Rich Table in 2013, it was a fast favorite of critics and locals alike. Both alumni of San Francisco culinary big wigs (her at Michael Mina and him at Quince), the couple wowed neighborhood regulars and destination diners with their cutting edge menu and casual ambiance.

This week, the duo opened Rich Table's first spinoff, RT Rotisserie. The 46-seat counter service spot, just a few blocks from Rich Table, offers rotisserie favorites like chicken and porchetta and even has roasted cauliflower. For the lunch crowd, there are sandwich versions on house-made Dutch crunch bread. (For those unfamiliar, Dutch crunch is THE bread of choice for many old-school locals.)

“There's something about chopping up a whole chicken and eating with your hands that really brings the table together. I want it to have zero pretension, but also to make it unmistakably Rich Table,” Evan Rich explained to Eater.

Along with chicken and pork fresh from the restaurant's red Rotisol rotisserie, the menu also offers salads, chicken soup and a hearty array of sides such as charred cabbage, umami fries, and seasonal favorites like elote.

The price point is equally as nice. A whole rotisserie chicken runs $19, half a chicken costs $10. Sides average at about $5. The dessert menu includes soft-serve and classics like milk and cookies.

RT Rotisserie is basically like coming home for really good roast chicken at mom's house, only without the nagging questions about our personal life. In other words, a dream come true.
