Now on with my top 3 spots in Seoul!

1) Yeonnam Train Park

Built on old train tracks, this park is definitely my favorite spot. We can picnic and enjoy some drinks with friends. There's also a bunch of delicious spots we can take out food for a picnic.

2) Naksan Trail

This is a perfect spot to stroll and enjoy the old and new scenery of Seoul. There are also some cool villages to explore along the way. Its a perfect outdoor spot!

3)Edae

For girls this is the perfect one-stop spot for everything they may need. There's cute cafes and restaurants to enjoy a girly date. There's enough shopping spots to please a shopaholic. And nail shop everywhere!

Hey Time Out Seoul - Happy Birthday!

Here's my top three spots in Seoul:

1. Tea Angpang (Edae) - Tucked away on a street near Ewha Womans University, there's an underground tea house with elegant charms. I love their royal milk tea (with rose shaped ice cubes!), and their cheesecake is some of the best I've ever had.

2. SMTOWN COEX Artium - this is for my inner kpop nerd. SM Entertainment opened this mega complex complete with cafe, shopping and dance studios. If you want to feel up close and personal with idols, this is your best bet.

3. Olympic Park - This massive park hosts festivals and concerts and it's a great place to spend your day exploring. Be sure to check out the rose gardens and outdoor sculptures!

My favorite spots in Seoul are:

1. Yangjae Cheon (River) near Yangjae Citizens' Forest Subway Station - It's not too far from my home and I enjoy taking walks there with my wife.

2. The Yangjae Flower Market- I love seeing the different flowers available and also like the whole market vibe

3. Gangnam Station - I like to mix it up once in awhile and go to busy places, but mostly prefer quiet places. But, Gangnam station is loud and fun.

Hi Time Out Seoul! Congrats on your first of many birthdays to come! I wish you guys success in the coming years as you continue to provide amazing content for expats, tourists, and locals alike! Your diverse content attracts people of all ages and lifestyles, as they look for whats happening in Seoul, and especially, what the Seoul food scene is about~! Thanks for giving readers this amazing opportunity~! :)

I've been in Seoul for a few summers now, and it is so hard to name just 3 spots...but I'll try~!

#1 Dongdaemun Design Plaza : I have been in Seoul for awhile, before and after the plaza was built, and it has provided a lot of cultural entertainment in my life! The art exhibits make it a go to place for any tourist or local looking to explore the Korean and international art scenes, all at a convenient location. Directly next (or attached?) to the subway, it is easily accessible, and is also next to Dongdaemun's cheapest and best shopping outlets and department stores. The Plaza also features conferences, movie nights, and even has a few high end restaurants in the building, making it a perfect place to bring a date, or spend a romantic evening with your spouse, or even a fun day with friends!

#2 Bukchon Hanok Village : One of the first places I visited in Seoul, I immediately fell in love with the traditional architecture of the Hanok Village and all of the cultural opportunities offered. This area is full of streets of restored traditional Korean houses, some housing restaurants, museums, and hanbok, traditional Korean clothing, rental shops. This is a must visit place for cultural or historical enthusiasts, as it is within walking distance to Gyeongbokgung palace, the Blue House, and also Insadong/Gwanghwamun Plaza are pretty close. Renting a hanbok and walking down the village's streets is definitely full of good photo ops, and a perfect way  to experience traditional Korean life right in the city!

#3 Hangang Park : Probably the most iconic symbol of Korea, the Hangang features several parks along its length. I'm partial to Yeouido, but all of the parks are equally as nice! A lot of music events can be heard in some of the pavilions in the parks, and there are even swimming pools open to the public! Most of the river is bike, walking friendly, and you can make a day of it and walk/bike along the whole river. These parks are perfect to set up a picnic blanket and order the famous Korean Chicken and Beer (Chi-Maek) from one of the local restaurants. A lot of the parks also have restaurants or convenience stores in close proximity for other snacks and drinks. The sunset along the Han is one of the most beautiful sights I've seen in Korea, and its a nice way to wind down, and relax from city life!

Best wishes,

Juliana

PS: I am also located in Seoul so I would be able to use the hotel night :) It would be a great way to relax and see even more of Seoul~! ^^

**Happy Birthday Time Out Seoul! Lots of good articles :)

My favorite spots:

1. Seoul Forest - A nice place to have a picnic and generally less crowded than big parks. Make sure to bring your own mat and kimbap!

2. Ihwa Mural Village - It's so cool walking through this area with a good camera. Lots of opportunities to enjoy the paintings with fun pictures. Bingsu afterwards is a plus with lots of nice coffee shops nearby.

3. Insadong - tea houses - I love walking around finding new tea houses. I even visited while wearing a hanbok which just added to the experience.

Has it already been one year!? Many congrats on all your success thus far and even more thanks for providing us with such great information about this beautiful city!

My favorite Seoul spots...

1. Buam-dong: Nestled between Inwang and Bugak mountains, this centrally located neighborhood is shielded by nature from the neon and concrete that drench the remainder of the metropolis. It is dotted with quaint cafes and quirky museums, and its Baeksasil Valley is a great place to enjoy nature and a bit of seclusion.

2.  Moon Bird Only Thinks of the Moon: Tucked into an obscure alley in the winding streets of Insadong, this peaceful tea house exudes Korea's old world charm. Decorated with traditional household tools and jars of fermenting fruit, this is a great place to enjoy a cup of Korean tea. (The omija is the best!) This is usually the first place I bring visitors.

3. Tongin Market: Having been restored in recent years, Tongin Market is one of Seoul's few traditional markets that remains a thriving attraction. The Doshirak Cafe upstairs is a particularly fun experience, as visitors can sample an endless array of tasty Korean dishes.

Timeout Seoul Happy FIRST birthday! Congratulations on your first year, and hope for many more to come!

There are so many things I love about Korea, and especially about Seoul! My favorite spots are:

1. Peace Park and Nanji Park near World Cup Stadium. I am an ultimate frisbee player and I love playing along the riverside, and enjoying the view of the river and Seoul's cityscapes, and there is plenty of space to lay out a tent and enjoy a picnic on this part of the Han River.

2. Linus's Barbecue. I follows Linus from his pop-up days and remember when his storefront was a no-wait walk up and sit-down establishment (that only lasted a couple weeks though!) Linus's really helped invigorate that end of Itaewon, and bring an AWESOME style of cooking to Seoul!

3. Seonyudo Park. My now husband and I had our engagement pictures taken here one year and 2 days ago! This park holds a special place in my heart as a result but even for those without such special memories can enjoy the industrial meets natural feel of the park.

Happy birthday Timeout Seoul! I enjoy listening to one of your editors Hannah Yoon introduce many great spots and events on ebs tfm. Anyways my favorite spots in Seoul are:

1. PowerPlant(광화문): You can get all different great food at one place, especially you can get awesome barbecues.

2. Yeouido Park: You don't often see this size of green in middle of Seoul.

3. Nam San Tower: It is especially great at nighttime looking down all the lights shining in downtown Seoul.

Thanks.

Happy birthday TimeOut! I remember your first edition when it came out last year - it was so awesome to see a magazine format that I was familiar with!!

After living in Korea for 6 years (4 of them in Seoul), my fave spots are:

1) the Seoulleung tombs in Gangnam. Its so peaceful there, and lovely to walk around in the fall with the colourful trees!

2) the newly renovated COEX - they've done such a nice job of creating a shopping area that is fun to shop in.

3) Seoul Dream Forest - another outdoor fave, it's close to my work near Miasagori and I can pop over there for some fresh air and beautiful scenery!

It just so happens that it's my husband's birthday this month too - great things were created in June!

생일축하해요! Here's my favorite spots in Seoul:

1. Banpo Hangang Park: Great day or night, even though you can no longer get chicken delivered directly to you.

2. Changdeokgung: The most beautiful palace, and the moonlight tour can't be beat!

3. Spa Lei: Women-only jimjilbang, perfect for relaxing alone or spending time with girlfriends.

Hey TimeOut Seoul!

Firstly, Happy birthday. If we want to get seriously foreign I’ll sing it in Afrikaans for you. “Veels geluk liewe maatjie omdat jy verjaar!”

But on a serious note:

My favorite things to do in Seoul are:

1.The War Memorial of Korea: As expats, I guess that’s why we’re here – to learn about Korea and all its rich history. Nevertheless, strolling through this museum for hours learning about the Korean war and ancient weaponry left me feeling so fulfilled. I was convinced that Korea is all everyone makes it out to be – nothing short of spectacular.

2.Insadong Walking Streets: I have such a special space for this place in my heart; walks on the weekend in a place which embodies the Korean contemporary culture. I also get to shop away from massive shopping malls. Yummy food, cute crafts and art galleries to keep you absorbed, Insadong is such a treat.

3.Yeouido Park and Hangang Park: A place to escape the hussle; feeling the energy of Seoul but in one of its beautiful ‘gardens’. A place where I may or may not have indulged in fried chicken (maybe quench my thirst with some soju) on a warm night with friends.

Theres also so much I’ve missed out on – the nightlife in Hongdae, Gyeongbokgung Palace etc. etc. etc. On a side note: My birthday is on June 30th. So this price would really just be the icing on the literal cake. I live in Busan so trips to Seoul are quite pricey. So I’d really just die (not litearlly this time). But again Happy birthday! (PICK ME!)

HBD, TOS! One year and growing! 👍

My top three, in no particular order...

1) Souteast side of Banpo Bridge in the Han River Park. The rainbow fountain show from the bridge, the lights from Sevit Island, a convenience store nearby for drinks, and chicken delivery! What's not to like on a summer's night?

2) Bogwangdong. A little off the beaten path from Itaewon, it has more than its fair share of rustic Korean style BBQ spots. Likely to eventually give way to modern development, this neighborhood gives you some of that older school Seoul feel. Get it while you can.

3) Sheraton Walker Hill and the W. Feeing lucky? Hit one of Seoul's few poker rooms to go all-in at the casino in the Sheraton, or saunter over to the Woo Bar at the W for cocktails while taking in the night lights on the Han River. Burn some calories hiking up the hill next to the Walker before you replace them at Pizza Hill.

Enjoy!

My top 3 favourite Seoul spots are:

1.  Namsan Park - A beautiful calm oasis when you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  Also an enjoyable hike through the park to Namsan Tower for amazing views.

2.  Dongdaemun - For incredible deals and shopping, shopping and more shopping!!

3.  Itaewon - Impressive range of restaurants and bars to suit whatever you're in the mood for.

Thank you :)

Happy Birthday for your 1st birthday, Time Out Seoul !!! Please keep updating about nice things in Seoul like you always do !

The Seoul spots I love are...

1. Bukchon Hanok Village - because I love how traditional Korean style meets the modern life. Moreover I like to sit at the Hanok style cafes and enjoy my tea.

2. Garoso-gil - This area is full of chic and trendy shops, restaurants and cafes. I can wander and go shopping around here for hours without feel bored! A must-place-to-visit is LINEFRIEND store!

3. Songpa Naru Park - Walking the trails along the lakes in the morning make me relax before starting my day. The scenery around here is quite beautiful especially during Cherry Blossom period.

Dear Time Out Seoul,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Thanks for all of the great advice about Seoul. It has made my time living here much easier!

My favorite places in Seoul:

1. Vinyl Bar is a tiny hole in the wall bar which serves a variety of cocktails in pouches. You can relax to chill music and sip a strong long island iced tea after teaching a long day of classes, and then get one to go for Hongdae park. The guy that owns it burns sandalwood incense and it has great vibes. Get there 5-minutes walk from Sangsu station.

2. Seoul Cycling Trail: This is an amazing biking trial that even extends past Seoul, and you can rent bikes for as little as 10,000 won. The views are breathtaking and there are several cafes along the trail which stretches along the Han River.

3. Cheonggyecheon Stream: I love walking along the stream during the spring/summer time! There are so many restaurants situated along each side of the stream and it's great for sitting by to read a book. It's especially relaxing to walk along at night when the stream is lit up.

Sincerely,

Nicholas

Hey TimeOut Seoul,

A very happy 1st birthday to you!

My three top picks for things to do when in Seoul:

1. Meandering around the Dongmyo Flea Market in the hope of acquiring some worn treasures, and at worst settling for a picture of said treasures and their colorful purveyors.

2. Escaping the sea of people in Hongdae at Chawoongga for some dongdongju and yukgaejang while looking out at the hanok courtyard. Bonus points if it's raining!

3. Ending the night with a classy drink at Robin's Square, where watching the bartenders make the drink is as enjoyable as drinking it.
