Time Out says

Some people take pictures, and others create paintings. Singapore-based contemporary realism artist Eu Oy Chun belongs to the latter camp – and in her extensive travels abroad, she's created an impressive collection of oil paintings that capture picturesque scenes and daily life overseas.

A Journey of Shared Memories is Eu Oy Chun's solo exhibition showcasing her works from the past 10 years. Unique landscapes, waterscapes, and animals are depicted in lush detail, echoing with solitude, serenity, and a quiet zest for life. "For audiences that have visited similar places, I hope my paintings can evoke happy memories," shares Eu. And if you've not, her rich and lively paintings might just inspire you to visit.

For this exhibition, Eu is also collaborating with ART:DIS, a service agency committed to creating learning and livelihood opportunities in the arts for people with disabilities. Eu will be donating 50 percent of the sales from the exhibition to ART:DIS to support its daily operations and its mission to propel artists with disabilities in their professional arts careers. This includes sales of the exhibited artworks as well as two books featuring her works in full colour print: Heritage of Trail (2017) ($15) and Journey (2021) ($15). Also available in a bundle of two ($25), the books are available both at the event and online.

"I personally believe that all forms of art play an important role in our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing," says Eu, on why she chose to work with ART:DIS. "The fact that ART:DIS provides a variety of affordable arts programmes and classes, especially for the special needs students, moved me to collaborate with them."

A Journey of Shared Memories is happening from September 24 to October 2 (11am-9pm) at ShouShan ArtSpace. To find out more about the art exhibition, visit euoychun.com
