The Water | The Body | The Spirit

Google Bali, and picture perfect results swamp your screen. We all know Bali as a beautiful beach getaway destination not far away from us. However, artist Ari Bayuaji highlights the things we do not see online – the condition of Bali’s shores. Raising up the issue of plastic pollution, the artist upcycles discarded waste found along the coasts of Sanur, Bali, to create beautiful textiles that reflect the magnificent hues of the ocean. The exhibition examines three different aspects – the water that regenerates the shore, the body that is the vessel that interacts with the environment, and the spirit that transforms energy through regeneration.
