Award-winning British percussionist Colin Currie marches to his drum, and it's nothing short of phenomenal. Deemed as "one of the greatest musicians in the world today" by American composer Steve Reich, Colin Currie is leading his virtuosic ensemble for their Singapore show on November 10 at the Esplanade. Prepare to be blown away by the thunderous version of Steve Reich's iconic drumming, including some of the musical minimalist's most popular works such as Music for 18 Musicians, Tehillim and Music for Pieces of Wood.
The Colin Currie Group has performed in various major halls and festivals around the world, and recently at the Louis Vuitton Foundation at Paris at the request of Reich himself. Joining the group for its Singapore show is Synergy Vocals, a vocal company that specialises in singing within a close range from the microphone, and is affiliated with the likes of John Adams, Louis Andriessen, Steven Mackey and Luciano Berio, as well as Steve Reich.
