Written by British playwright Jez Butterworth, the story is centred on a modern day Pied Piper named Johnny ‘Rooster’ Byron, who is at once threatened with an eviction notice by council officials, sought after by his mates for his supply of drugs and alcohol, and at risk of being beaten up by the local thug – while all his son wants is to be taken to the local county fair. Making its debut in Singapore, the play is known for its straight-talking dialogue and defiant celebration of freedom.
