Gear up for this year's HSBC SVNS, a highly anticipated rugby sevens tournament that's hosted in cities all around the world. This May 3 to 5, all eyes are on Singapore as our National Stadium transforms into an all-in-one sports and lifestyle festival. Not only will the lightning-fast pace of the rugby sevens games hold you captive, there will also be live music, tasty bites, and an all-day beach club.

You don't need to be a die-hard rugby fan to soak up the vibrant atmosphere – it's the perfect blend of sport, music, and entertainment. From world-class rugby showdowns to high-energy DJ sets, these four highlights are set to take centre stage at the HSBC SVNS.

1. Watch the best rugby teams in the world go head-to-head

With 12 of the top men's and women's national sevens teams vying for a spot at the Grand Finals in Madrid, you know that you'll be perched on the edge of your seat cheering. After all, when you have the world's most elite rugby players facing off, it's bound to be an intense battle.

Watch on as standings leaders Argentina battle it out with New Zealand, Australia and Canada for the men's tournament, while the women's pool draw has standings leaders New Zealand in the same pool as Canada, Ireland, and Spain. No doubt that it's a fierce competition since the winners of this three-day showdown will be crowned the League Winners, and carry on to Madrid to compete in the Grand Final.

Off the pitch, HSBC SVNS is known for throwing a full-fledged beach club experience – and this one’s held within National Stadium itself. This beach club might not have seaside views, but it certainly brings the party atmosphere with live entertainment, featuring house DJs and local bands.

For all rugby sevens tournaments, it's tradition for attendees to show up in fancy dress – and for Singapore’s edition this year, you’re encouraged to throw on a beach-themed outfit. Come in your most colourful Hawaiian shirt or make an appearance as a coastal lifeguard, complete with whistle and all. The best dressed will also win exclusive HSBC SVNS SGP merchandise.

3. Tuck into street food at the food market

Once peckish, head over to the all-day food market for a delightful mishmash of local street food. Enjoy a scoop of creamy gelato from Motor Folks, featuring unique flavours like pink salt speculoos or matcha frappe, or try mochi croffles and seaweed tacos from Sohtt. You'll also want to swing by Loco Loco for bites like mini churros and corn dogs. Wash it all down with a drink or two – nothing like an ice-cold beer or refreshing cocktail to cool off.

With a stellar lineup featuring international DJs and local musicians, it's set to be an electrifying weekend. Aussie DJ Wildflower steals the spotlight – she recently wowed crowds at the SVNS Perth. The lineup also includes Perth-based vocalist Nicholette C, New Zealand singer Ella Monnery, and a roster of talented local acts including Alyssa Lie and Jocelyn Ng. Over the three days of the event, non-stop energy from house DJs will keep the party going.
