Dive headfirst into the Deepavali Open House 2023 at the Indian Heritage Centre and prepare for a festival extravaganza unlike any other. Across four themed weekends, you'll find a lineup of workshops that'll whisk you away into a world of excitement.
Weekend one will centre around Food, where you’ll learn how to craft a mouth-watering biryani with an alternative to real meat at the Hyderabad Mock Meat Biryani – Deepavali Edition cooking demo. Or seize the chance to master the making of traditional sweets in the Ladoo Making and Storytelling session. There will also be Food Trail in Little India, a guided journey that promises an aromatic adventure filled with spices, vibrant street art, and scrumptious street eats.
Weekend two spotlights fashion, guiding you through the art of saree draping in the Indian Fashion & Saree Draping Masterclass, and offering a creative exploration of South Indian jewellery in the South Indian Jewelry Painting Workshop.
As weekend three arrives, it's all about the arts, with workshops in Indian Miniatures and Tanjore Art. For the first time, experience the magic of Candlelight Cultural Performances, featuring the graceful kathak dance form, a mesmerising portrayal of Deepavali's elegance.
The final weekend rounds up the entire experience by diving deep into the origins of Deepavali with the love story of Hindu God Krishna and Goddess Radha, beautifully brought to life in the Dramatized Gallery Tour.
