The Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) is closing its doors for redevelopment works on October 30, and expected to reopen only in 2025. But it's closing (for now) with a bang – throwing a month-long farewell party called MHC ClosingFest. From October 1 onwards, pop in to take part in arts and cultural activites and to catch some of the most memorable acts from past festivals. Highlights include performances from Orkes Gypsie Lautan and Jamilah Abu Bakar from Malaysia, Azrin Abdullah, the Bunga Tanjung Project Band and NADI Singapura from Singapore and the final showcase of Lintas Nusantara. Enjoy traditional rituals and displays representing various Malay cultures in the region at Bazaar Nusantara, and have a ball with engaging workshops that'll have you creating your own wayang kulit (shadow puppet theatre) puppets, bunga rampai (potpourri), and more.
