Time Out says

Falling on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the end of the autumn harvest. It's also when the moon is at its brightest and roundest, hence its other monicker, the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival.

As part of its annual Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations from August 31 to 26, the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) will be presenting a special outdoor lantern installation created in collaboration with Thailand artist Boonyavee Boonsakda (Ngaew Ngaew).

Titled Those Moonlit Moments... the outdoor installation features four large lantern replicas, including the artist's characters enjoying the mooncakes and each other's companies under the gentle and watchful eye of Ngaew’s Moon Rabbit. The adorable Moon Rabbit character was created especially for the Mid-Autumn Festival, inspired by the Jade Rabbit from Chinese folklore, a mythical character that keeps the goddess Chang’e company on the moon.

The installation opens to the public from 31 August to 26 September and accompanies an exciting line-up of family-friendly digital initiatives. These include learning how to guess lantern riddles, a craft demonstration and gamified content on the stories of Chang’e, Houyi and many more. These activities will be held online via the memorial hall's Facebook page (@sysnmh), for participants to come together and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival from the comfort of their own homes.
