Vegan food is often synonymous with higher dining expenses, given that the diet has been commercialised into a health fad. It might therefore come as a surprise to many that there are local street food options that fit perfectly into the vegan diet. During this year's edition of the SFF, a vegan street food crawl has been organised at three of the city's most iconic precincts – Chinatown, Little India, and Geylang Serai. Each trail consists of at least six to eight different dishes, from lesser-known bites like the buah keluak tofu and vegan coffee, to popular local favourites like rojak and chwee kueh. Along the way, participants will also have the opportunity to get hands-on, making popiah, wrapping jackfruit dumplings and prepping banana flowers.
