Time Out says

The Women and Media Collective reaches out to all female photographers in Sri Lanka for the eighth women’s photography exhibition. The theme this year is Women, Culture and Religion and photographs are expected to portray a woman’s identity in areas such as education, social interactions, sexuality, employment, health or wellbeing.

The photography exhibition will be held at the Lionel Wendt Galley on the 17th and 18th of June 2016 from 9am to 8.30pm. Over the past few years the WMC photography exhibition has aimed to enter a profession that is predominantly male driven by showcasing the work of amateur and professional female photographers in the country. This year too while the exhibition will display true talents of women it will also raise awareness and create a dialog on co-existence, tolerance and harmony in a country that is religiously and ethnically diverse.

A one-of-a-kind exhibition held each year in Sri Lanka the women’s photography exhibition will showcase compelling imagery of women taken by women under the given theme.
