Attangalla Raja Maha Viharaya

Built to commemorate King Siri Sanghabo, a dominant character in ancient Sri Lankan history, who sacrificed his life by beheading himself; the Viharaya is a famed historical site. The vatadage at Attanagalle Raja Maha Viharaya is the only intact vatadage in the country. The Viharaya provides residential training experience to Buddhist monks and devotees.
