The Indian Cultural Centre in Colombo conducts many activities in Sri Lanka to revive and strengthen cultural relations between India and Sri Lanka.
The centre conducts classes in Bharatha Natyam, Hindustani and Carnatic vocal music, Kathak, violin, sitar, tabla, Hindi and Yoga, while organising performances by Indian and Sri Lankan artistes, lectures and lecture demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions. Four to five Indian movies and documentaries are screened every month.
The centre has a well-equipped library and reading room with a collection of books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, CDs and DVDs.
The library and reading room is open to the public.
