Kankesanthurai

Declared a high security zone, Kankesanthurai is small suburb which is at a few miles distance from Point Pedro —the northern most point of the island nation.  Kankesanthurai was a difficult place to get access to in the previous years, but is relatively easier in the present. The harbour here is the third most significant international harbor in the nation, owing to its ease of access from the neighbouring countries. Closer to the town is the Naguleswaram temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and the renowned Keerimalai pool which is believed to have curative properties.
