Sammankodu Sri Manickapillayar Temple

This spacious kovil, with an extended front area, gives a tranquil feeling as one enters inside. Sammankoddu kovil, features an array of special poojas during the month of Aadi. Lord Murugan is carried in the chariot across the streets of Bambalapitiya. This much awaited festival season attracts over thousands of people to take part in cultural programs organised by the kovil, featuring classical music, traditional dances and many more.  Some of the major festivals celebrated at this kovil are Gajamuha samharam, Sooranpor and Ganesh Chathurthi. During the aadivel season, Lord Murugan is brought in the chariot and crowds gather to celebrate the three day festival.
