Extending from the main road to the beach and sea, ArugamBay PodBay sets the tone for a novel holiday in the East Coast. Set against the backdrop of the pristine Aurgambay shoreline are compact convertainers painted in pastel hues and arranged symmetrically. The name of the hotel was Inspired by the ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ quote ‘Open the Pod Bay doors HAL’ and the iPod by Steve Jobs. Throughout the property, variations of its name can be observed.
The colourful façades of the 15 Pods (convertainer unit rooms) open in to soothing white, air-conditioned interiors with en suite bathrooms. Stretching towards the beach, the Bay rooms are spacious air-conditioned rooms with en suite bathrooms, and verandas overlooking the pool, beach and ocean. The Bay rooms are separate units.
The spacious HomePods located between the Pods and Bay rooms have an attached bathrooms and verandas. The PotPod, open on all sides, is a tranquil restaurant, and is an ideal location for relaxation. A hearty breakfast, juices as well as other beverages are prepared at the convertainer kitchen. With a few hours notice, guests can request any dish of their choice.
One of the largest swimming pools in Arugambay, the WaterPod overlooks the beach. The beachfront, known as AirPod, is a place to unwind. From here, Arugambay Point and Pottuvil Point, the two points of the main bay, can be seen.
